NY Tails was founded in 2009 by Kira and Paulo Rocha, an animal loving couple that decided to turn their passion for dogs into a career. Paulo has over 15 years of professional experience working with dogs, while Kira’s expertise started in childhood having grown up in a family of breeders. Together, they have found the perfect balance between following their dreams and providing a high standard of service for the ever growing community of pet owners right here in New York City.
A strong sense of family and values is at the core of their lifestyle, and it shows in their approach towards clients, pets, dog walkers, and everyone involved with the company.
Kira manages all scheduling and billing and makes sure all new clients are properly welcomed and set up. She’s always available, offering constant and consistent communication. Her fast response time ensures quick and suitable solutions to any and all issues that might arise. Moreover, Kira’s frequently searching for new technology to improve NY Tails and make our clients’ experience with us that much more pleasant and easy. Through broad availability and reliable customer service, she always finds the best way to accommodate all requests and isn’t happy until everyone’s tails are wagging!
Hand in hand with his wife, Paulo is genuinely dedicated to the lifelong dream career he’s worked so hard to establish. Besides having nearly two decades of experience and being an expert in dog behavior and knowledge, he’s always checking on our pups and our dog walkers, assisting them with anything they might need. He also helps new dog owners to develop a routine for their puppies that’s conducive to both their daily schedules and their dog’s needs. Paulo is continually striving to share his vast experience with our clients and employees, thus making your pup’s adaptation process as smooth and short as possible.
Beyond NY Tails
Kira and Paulo’s commitment to the pet community goes above and beyond their duties within NY Tails. Kira started the Dogs of UES group on Facebook, where pet owners in the Upper East Side can exchange information on pet related businesses, local news and events, missing pups and all things doggy related. She’s also created and maintains an adoption and rescue page on Facebook, Almaty Best Friends, focused on assisting people and dogs in her native country Kazakhstan, while also supporting local dog shelters and other rescue groups there. Additionally, 1% of all NY Tails profits are donated to benefit animal shelters and children in need in both Kazakhstan and Brazil.
Their goal is to make sure you have peace of mind while your pup has a blast! Kira and Paulo truly treat your pooch as a member of their own family- so don’t be surprised when their pup Molly joins in on the fun and ends up being the unofficial, four-legged, welcoming committee to all of our new furry friends.
